Pressure-mounted gates are often chosen to avoid wall damage, but they can actually end up causing more harm. Because they're not securely fixed, through the vibrations of use, they constantly shift and end up scuffing the paint. When removed, they can peel off chunks paint, and over-tightened pressure pads sometimes leave dents in the walls.
These Wall Savers feature a non-skid surface that covers a 4 1/4" diameter area, effectively protecting your walls from damage. The wider surface distributes pressure over ten times the area of the safety gate's original pads, resulting in a more stable installation with reduced movement.
Wall Savers are also helpful for Walk through gates and fit to baseboard moldings. The narrower width at the bottom on the baseboard compared to the top of the gate at the wall, can pose a challenge. The top pressure pads of the gates fit snugly into the recessed "well" of the Wall Saver (1 5/8" wide), positioning the pad 5/8" away from the wall. This placement aligns with the depth of most moldings, balancing the distance between the top and bottom of the gate. This innovative solution ensures the gate functions seamlessly, avoiding in some cases getting a gate extension for the top but not needing at the bottom.
NOTE: The Wall Savers are used only with the top two pressure pads of the gate. (The lower pads of the gates are generally put against stronger baseboard moldings and are too close to the floor for the diametre of the Wall Saver. Mini Wall Savers that are less wide are available for the bottom pads.)
